Equality. Whether its between women and men, race and religion or gay rights, I believe we are all humans, born exactly the same with acute differences that are no excuse to be treated unequal to the person next to you.
I ask you, should gay marriage become legalised, what would happen? The world would continue to turn, you would continue to work your job and continue to still be an asshole on Saturday morning after too many drinks the night before. Bottom line is that your life wouldn't change at all. However, the life of gay couples would significantly improve. Not only could they be joined in legal matrimony, they would have the same rights if their spouse was to pass away, the same rights to raise children and the same rights that everyone else takes for granted in their 47 day marriages.
This world needs more love. Lets stop drawing lines between who should and should not be able to do things and give everyone the same choices.
